Our business was formed in 2014 with the coming together of Capital Mutual Insurance Brokers, Paramount Insurance Brokers and Steadfast Limited, but our history goes back way beyond that.

Steadfast was formed in April 1996 with 43 independent insurance brokers joining together to enhance their buying power. The coming together would give the group size and scale that would result in better leverage for their clientele when dealing with suppliers and the capability to compete against the larger multinational brokers.

With a genuine focus and independent quality, advice and service, the network grew to become the largest insurance broking network in Australia. In 2013, Steadfast Group listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX code:SDF) to raise funds and expand its model to become co-owner and consolidator of brokers, underwriting agencies and complementary businesses.

Today the group is the largest general insurance broker network and group of underwriting agencies in Australasia, with growing operations in Asia and Europe and presence in the Lloyd’s market in the UK.

Capital Mutual and Paramount Insurance Brokers were part of the Steadfast grouping of brokers from the early years, both respected, fierce and independent broking businesses within the insurance industry. We have operated since the 1970’s in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne handling the needs of personal clients, small to medium enterprise markets and larger commercial and corporate entities.

The formation of our group in 2014 brought genuine local knowledge, service and experience at the ground level with strong supplier relationships, greater purchasing power and broader insurance coverage with over 160 products. Newer technology was introduced resulting in inefficiency in the work place together with a triage system at a national level to support clientele in times of need that is enhanced by our size and scale. This allows us to control our own destiny in a forever changing marketplace.
